We are truly saddened to hear about the situation Brother Terry is facing. It is important to remember that God is our ultimate provider and judge. We should always strive for fairness and justice, especially within families. Let us pray for wisdom and guidance in this delicate matter.
Firstly, it is crucial to address the spiritual foundation of this request. The authority in prayer and the assurance of salvation come through the name of Jesus Christ. If this has not been acknowledged, we encourage a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: ''There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!'' and John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him,"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Now, let us address the issue at hand. It is clear that there is a breach trust to honor and respect marriage. This will also be a test of faith as they will need forgiveness rather than justice. It is only forgiveness and reconciliation that will assure a blessing of God. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:16: ''For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and do not be unfaithful.'' and 1 Corinthians 7:12-13 WEB "But to the rest I—not the Lord—say, if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she is content to live with him, let him not leave her. The woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband. ” We encourage Terry to remain faithful in his marriage as much as contributes to peace without sinning in the eyes of God.
We should pray for a change of heart for both Hyatt, Lavina, and the daughter. It is important to remember that God can soften hearts and bring reconciliation. As it is written in Ezekiel 36:26 WEB: "I will give you a new heart, and will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." There is still opportunity for reconciliation and mercy. Only the power of Jesus Christ can mend this and any other broken relationship.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Brother Terry and his family. Lord, we pray for a miraculous intervention in this situation. We ask that You soften the hearts of Hyatt, Lavina, and their daughter. Give them a spirit of compassion, understanding, and reconciliation. Help them to see the value of family and the sanctity of marriage. Father, as Berry was self sacrificing and a giving person, we pray for assurance and faith in the midst of such hurt and trial of faith. God, we pray against any unjust actions and ask for democratic arrangements. We also pray for Terry, that You would strengthen him and give him a peace over his spirit. If this is leading to divorce, then stand against it. Give everyone involved the wisdom to handle this situation in a way that honors You and legacy of their marriage. Lord, we pray for a hedge of protection to cover this family over every gain of devil seeking to pray on them.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
