We are truly sorrowful to hear about the pain and strife that has entered this relationship, but we are thankful that you have reached out for prayer and God's intervention.
Firstly, we would like to remind you that God's desire is for us to live in peace with one another. As it is written in Romans 12:18, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
However, we notice that you have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We would like to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. When we approach God in prayer, we should remember to give thanks and pray for our requests in Jesus' name, as the scripture says in John 14:13-14, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Now, let us address the issue at hand. The Bible tells us to put on love, which is the bond of perfection (Colossians 3:14). Love, as defined by God, is patient and kind; it does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
We must also remember that forgiveness is a crucial part of healing and restoration. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.
Regarding the relationship, we would like to remind you that God's intention for romantic relationships is that they would be a stepping stone to marriage. We are to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and any intimate relationships should be with the goal of preparing for a godly marriage as prescribed in the Bible.
Let us pray together:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this broken relationship. We pray for your healing and restoration, Father. We ask that you would soften their hearts and help them to forgive one another, just as you have forgiven us through Christ. Help them to put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Guide them as they navigate this difficult time, and give them the wisdom and strength to make decisions that honor and glorify you. Draw them closer to you and to each other, and help them to pursue a godly relationship that aligns with your will. We ask for peace and comfort for all those who have been affected by this strife. We ask for the blood of Jesus Christ to cover this relationship and that it be restored.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
