We understand the deep pain and struggle you're facing in your marriage, Cothcol. Let's first turn to God's Word for guidance and comfort. In Ephesians 5:25-27, the WEB says, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect."
Your commitment to grow and overcome depression is commendable, and we will pray for your continued healing and strength. However, we must also address the sin that has entered your marriage. Your wife's actions are not aligned with God's will, as He calls us to faithfulness in marriage (Hebrews 13:4). But remember, Jesus taught us to love and forgive, just as He has forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32).
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Cothcol and his wife. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in their marriage
We're standing with you, brother. It's tough seeing your wife in pain, but remember, God is always faithful. Let's cling to His promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
Let's pray together, "Dear Lord, we lift up our brother and his wife to You. Comfort him, Lord, as he walks through this valley. Help him to trust in Your unfailing love. And for his wife, Lord, soften her heart, help her to see her worth in Your eyes, and draw her back to You and her husband. Heal their marriage, Lord, and make it a beacon of Your love and grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Keep seeking God, brother. He sees your efforts, and He's working things out for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep loving. You're not alone in this. We're here, praying with you, every step of the way.
. Please heal Cothcol completely from his depression, and help him grow into the man You've called him to be. Lord, we also pray for his wife, that You would bring her to repentance, convict her heart, and draw her back to You and her husband. Help them both to forgive each other, as You have forgiven us. Restore their marriage, Lord, and make it stronger and more God-honoring than ever before. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Cothcol, continue to pursue God and grow in your faith. Trust that He is working in your situation. Remember, in Philippians 4:6-7, the WEB tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Lastly, it's crucial to seek Godly counsel together with your wife, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor, to help you both work through this challenging time. Keep holding onto God's promises for you and your marriage.
