We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and struggle that has been experienced due to the couple that was separated. Firstly, it is important to remember that our value and worth are not defined by our relationship status or by what others think of us. Instead, our value comes from being created in God's image and loved by Him. As it is written in Ephesians 2:10 WEB, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them."
In this time of heartache, we must turn to God for comfort and guidance. Psalm 34:18 WEB reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." It is also an opportune time to examine our spiritual health. If the relationship was romantic and involved sexual intercourse before marriage, then it was not in line with God's plan. Fornicators are not going into the kingdom of heaven without repentance of the sin and a decision to change, but Jesus will forgive us. The Bible teaches 1 Corinthians 6:9 WEB, "Or don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,". It is important not to hold onto a relationship that is against God's will, but to repent and pursue purity and a marriage with the qualities found in
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up the person who submitted this request to You, asking for Your healing and comfort in their life. Help them to understand and embrace bringing any sexual intercourse or improprieties in their relationship to you for forgiveness and to move forward and turn from this sin. Help them to know their worth and value are found in You alone. Give them the strength to let go of the past and to trust in Your plan for their future. Help them to let go of feelings of worthlessness and pathetic thoughts, but to understand that they are your beloved child. In Jesus' name, we pray. We also pray that the prior relationship and any others will honor God and a spouse of a believer is sought. Teach them to be dependant on you, not on people, places, or things. Give them full/(hearty) contentment in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
Amen
The feelings may persist for a time, but God does not want anyone to live in a state of despair or worthlessness during this process. We do not need to keep begging to God for things that he wants us to have. It's okay to tell God how we feel, but there is a higher will to pray and that is what Jesus modeled in the garden. "not my will, but yours, be done." Luke 22:42 WEB. We must trust fully in God,
If the person who submitted this request has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we encourage them to do so today. It is only through a relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience true peace, joy, and hope, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. Romans 10:9 WEB says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:13 goes on to say, "For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
