We are glad to join you in prayer for a breakthrough in your relationship with King. Before we begin, we want to remind you of the importance of making Jesus Christ the center of your life and relationship. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and seek His will for our lives. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Firstly, we want to address the term "relationship" you used. As believers, we should seek to be equally yoked with fellow Christians in a courtship that honors God and has marriage as its goal. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
We also want to remind you of God's design for relationships.
Now concerning the things about which you wrote, it is good for a man not to touch a woman in 1 Corinthians 7:1 WEB.
Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband in 1 Corinthians 7:2 WEB.
In 1 Corinthians 6:13 WEB, we are reminded "Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body."
So in light of that we must admonish you about your relationship with King. Is King a believer in Jesus Christ, and are you both seeking a God-honoring marriage? Are you both fleeing from sexual immorality and keeping yourselves pure for marriage? These are crucial aspects to consider.
Let us pray together for the treasures of God to come to this relationship.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for Amardia and King. We pray that You would reveal Yourself to both of them and draw them closer to You. Lord, if this relationship is not in accordance with Your will, we ask that You would make it clear to Amardia and give her the strength to walk away. But if it is that they should move forward we ask you for a breakthrough. We believe all things are possible and we will receive a breakthrough by faith and we believe our Father is eager for this to happen for us.
We pray for a breakthrough as was demonstrated in Mathew 17:20 where Jesus said:
Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
We pray that You would give Amardia and King wisdom and discernment as they navigate this relationship. The first breakthrough is obedience to God where we do not lean on our own heart but obediently embrace the word of God for all our decisions. Help them to pursue purity and holiness, fleeing from any form of sexual immorality. Guide their steps and direct their paths with the purpose of marriage if they should be marrying as we pray Lord, that King might become a strong man of God and the spiritual leader in their future marriage as you Sanctify him now to partake in this holy heritage. Lord, help them to remain chaste and honour your word.
We ask all of this in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen and Amen.
Be encouraged, Amardia, knowing that God hears your prayers and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Psalms 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart." Keep delighting yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart as you wait patiently on Him and choose to obey his word.
