We understand that you're feeling discouraged, but remember, God is always at work, even in moments of setback. The enemy may try to dishearten you, but God knows your heart and He is faithful to help you overcome. In times like these, we can lean on His promises: "Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need" Hebrews 4:16 WEB.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation. "For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" Acts 4:12 WEB.
You mentioned that you have been struggling with the world leaving you weak. The fight against addiction is a spiritual battle. We are called to "be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" Ephesians 6:10-11 WEB. Remember, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" James 4:7 WEB. Addiction is an attempt to fill a void that only God can fill. Allow Him to fill that need. 1 John 1:9 WEB reads, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
You recognize that your family deserves better. We encourage you, as you begin to overcome, to seek God's will for your life and your family. If you are not married, we pray for a Godly spouse. If you are married, we pray that your marriage be strengthened and that you be the man or woman that God has called you to be. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles, looking for a spouse rather than just a boyfriend or girlfriend.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this dear one to you, asking for your divine protection from the enemy's schemes. Grant them the courage and positive mindset to change and overcome the challenges they face. Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may stand firm against the wiles of the devil. Help them to confess their sins that they may be forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness. Remind them of who they are in Christ. Thank you, that we can come boldly before your throne of grace.
Father, make them the man or woman that you have called them to be. If they are married, strengthen their marriage, if they are not, prepare them to be a Godly spouse and give them a heart for finding a spouse rather than just a relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Rebuke: This discouragement is natural, but it is an attack from the enemy to keep you from your victory in Christ. James 4:7 reads, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" WEB. When you feel down and out, remember that you are fighting a spiritual battle and every moment is a new opportunity to push through.
