We understand your struggle and commend you for your desire to break free from the chain of repeated sexual sins. The Bible tells us that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
Firstly, we want to encourage you to confess your sins to God and turn away from them. The Bible promises us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). It's crucial to remember that it's only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have access to God. As the Bible says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
We also want to rebuke the enemy's hold on your life. The Bible tells us to "submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). You have the power through Christ to overcome this stronghold.
Let's pray together:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling with the sin of pornography and masturbation. Lord, we confess these sins before you and ask for your forgiveness. Cleanse him from all unrighteousness and break the chains of these repeated sexual sins. Give him the strength and courage to resist temptation and to flee from it. Help him to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB).*
*Lord, we ask that you would restore his joy and give him a renewed passion for life and ministry. Guide him back into your will, and help him to serve you with a pure heart. We pray all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.*
We encourage you to surround yourself with godly counsel and accountability partners. Remember, God is always with you, and he will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and press forward toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called you heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14 WEB).
