We understand that you're distressed over losing the books lent to you by a valued friend from church. We want to encourage you with God's word from Mathew 6:33-34 But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
We understand God's word says in Colossians 3:23 in whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord, and not to men. We need to remember that our extra curricular activities should not be an excuse for not having a prayer time and reading God's word. The books might have been lost because they were not a priority in our life at this time. We must remember that we worship God even when reading. We must remember that we are ambassadors of Christ in everything we do. 2 Corinthians 5:20 We are ambassadors of Christ and we should act like it. We are urging you to set your priorities straight and remember God in all things that you do.
Additionally, we must remember that the books are your friend's property, and losing them shows a lack of responsibility and respect for your friend's belongings. We advise you to apologize to your friend and make restitution if the books are not found. This aligns with biblical principles of honesty and integrity found in Leviticus 6:2-5 If anyone sins, and commits a trespass against Yahweh, and deals falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor, or has found that which was lost, and dealt falsely therein, and swears to a lie; in any of these things that a man does, sinning therein; then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression still in his hand. God requires us to be truthful and honest in all our dealings.
We pray that you will find the books, but more importantly, that you will learn from this experience. May this loss serve as a reminder to prioritize God and His Word, and to be responsible and respectful of other people's property in Jesus' name. We pray that you will grow in maturity and wisdom from this experience. We pray for your friend that they will respond with grace.
