We understand that you are facing a significant financial burden and harassment from debt collectors, which is causing distress for you and your family. First, we commend you for coming in the name of Jesus, as it is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation (Acts 4:12). In all things it is important to keep praying in the name of Jesus.
In times of financial struggle, it is essential to remember that God cares for us and our needs. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:25-34 (WEB):
"Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will put on. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's trouble is enough for the day."
We pray that God will provide for your needs and guide you through this challenging time. However, we must also address the importance of responsible stewardship of finances. The Bible teaches us to be wise and responsible with our money, as seen in Proverbs 21:20 (WEB):
"There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up."
It is crucial to manage your finances in a way that honors God and avoids unnecessary debt. In Romans 13:8 (WEB) it is written:
"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Psalm 37:21 (WEB) also teaches, "The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously."
We encourage you to seek godly counsel and financial advice to manage your debts responsibly. It is important to communicate with your creditors and work out a payment plan rather than hoping for a miracle to avoid payments. Additionally, seeking a loan to pay off debts may lead to a cycle of further debt if not managed carefully. Consider Proverbs 22:7 (WEB), which warns:
"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened with debt and harassment from creditors. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention and guidance in this situation. Grant them the wisdom to manage their finances responsibly and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Protect them and their family from harassment and guide them to a peaceful resolution. Help them not to seek earthly miracles but seek God's will, creating a budget, and become a good steward of what you have provided. In Jesus' name, we pray for their peace and guidance. Help them not lean on their own understanding but to trust in you with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding. Amen.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB)
