Roshan Dsouza, thank you for your humble prayer and for coming in the name of Jesus, which is the only way to approach God. Roshan we know this is a difficult time, but recall what God tells us in the First Epistle of John,But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin 1 John1:7. Our forgiveness requires our walking in the light, not in financial sin.
Now, little by little we will work through your debt. In the meantime, refrain from excess spending so as not to increase the debts.
When we put turning away from sin and the truth of Jesus Christ at the center of our prayers, efforts, and hopes, all other things will be put into perspective.
Should Christians and the church be financially responsible? Yes, This verse sums up the Bible's teaching on debt: The wicked borrows, and does not pay back Proverbs 37:21. There is moral obligation to repay. God wants His children to be lenders and givers, not borrowers or bondservants to debt. Unless you can guarantee the repayment of a loan, avoid going into debt, as it can have unintended consequences to your family, business, and health. It is wrong to guarantee a loan in which you are unable to repay.
Roshan, any money truly owed needs to be repaid. Jesus even uses repaying of debts as an illustration in the parable of the unforgiving servant. Jesus says,So when he had patiently endured, the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and released him, and forgave him the debt Matthew 18:27.. This parable deals with forgiveness, but it holds in business as well.
Remember Roshan: if you default on debts, that impacts your testimony for Christ. The most important things to do are to pray and look for Gods guidance in resolving any debt. In the case where too much is owed then a payment plan should be discussed. Do not allow God to be robbed of the tithe.
Desiring money quickly and effortlessly has led many people to ruin. At the same time, we should be wise and discerning toward repaying debts. The counsel of many is always better than alone.
Yes, financial hardship can put shame, but this is not something we should hide from. We can turn to God for his help and his people. Instead of feeding the anxiety about needing a guaranteed loan, realise that God gives wisdom. If we lack wisdom, we should ask. Instead of being anxious, have faith that God will provide. He may not provide with a loan.
Paul wrote in Philippians 4:6:
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ JesusPhilippians 4:7.
That being said, we will pray to ask God in His mercies to put in the minds of those who you owe that a repayment plan can be setup. We will pray This is an old problem. We should pray God should tame the hearts of the threatening bullies and debt collectors, whether they be Lenders, Banks, Pozi, Kissht or even Sagar or Sunil.
Let us pray:
Father, we come before you, lifting up Roshan Dsouza in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness for any sins committed. Thank you for the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Lord, we pray for Your guidance and wisdom in Roshan's financial struggles. If any person is harrassing Roshan, Lord we pray you will put patience, understanding, and wisdom in their hearts and minds. We pray for comfort for the family and love to reign. We pray that all that is owed be paid back. We pray for better finances for Roshan with your blessings and mercy.
Father, we ask for your divine intervention in the financial difficulties and debts. We know that you are a God who provides and cares for all our needs. Help all those who are involved to be willing to discuss, make payment plans needed, be willing to work out payment plans with Roshan affordably. We rebuke any further harrassment of Roshan and those associated with him. .
So, Father, all we can do now is look and pray expectantly toward You.. We ask all in Jesus name.
