We are grateful for your heart to support those who have felt judged in the church for various reasons, including having tattoos. It's important to remember that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies, as it says in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:
"Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
However, it's also crucial to remember that once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are new creatures in Christ, as told in 2 Corinthians 5:17:
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
This means that our past actions, such as getting tattoos, do not define us, and we should not judge others based on their past or outward appearance. Instead, we should focus on our own walk with Christ and encourage others to do the same.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today to lift up this support group that is being formed to encourage and bless those who have felt judged in the church. We pray that you would anoint this group with your wisdom and love, and that it would be a beacon of light and hope to those who need it.
We pray that you would remind us all that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that we should honor you with our bodies. We also pray that you would help us to see others through your eyes, and not judge them based on their past or outward appearance.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only by His name that we have access to you, our Heavenly Father.
Amen.
As a final reminder, let us always remember and teach others that the only way to be saved is through belief in Jesus Christ, as it says in Acts 4:12:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
