Servant of All
Bless them; change me,” is the simplest way of saying “Lord, You know better than I do what is needed in this situation. Please bring the other person closer to Yourself, and work in my heart to move me toward the person You want me to become.” But Lord, I pray for your will in this person's life. Please give me eyes to see them from your perspective, and an attitude of forgiveness. Grant me patience while you work this out, and show me how to be the loving Christian you've called me to be.”However, if we put the matter in the Lord's hands and let Him dispense justice in His time and way, we can rest assured that He will bring it to pass, for He says, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” (Rom 12:19b), and it is “just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you” (2 Th 1:6). Lord Jesus Christ, by your patience in suffering you hallowed earthly pain and gave us the example of obedience to your Father’ will: Be near me in my time of weakness and pain; sustain me by your grace, that my strength and courage may not fail; heal me according to you will; and help me always to believe that what happens to me here is of little account if you hold me in eternal life, my Lord and my God. Amen.
