We gather together in prayer, lifting up Max as he faces a significant event tonight. Our hearts echo the desire for him to be filled with confidence and strength, as it is written in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." We ask, Lord, that You would indeed strengthen Max and let Your light shine through him.
As Max stands before decision-makers and spectators, we pray that they would see the best in him, just as we are encouraged in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." May Max's efforts and dedication be evident, and may he impress those who observe him.
We also lift up the desire for Max to be selected as captain. We know, Lord, that Your will is perfect, and we pray that if it is Your plan, Max would be granted this honor. We remember Proverbs 16:3, "Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established."
While we pray for these things, we also want to encourage Max to keep his focus on You, Lord, and to trust in Your plan for his life. Whether he is selected as captain or not, we know that Your purpose for him is greater than any earthly accolade.
In all these things, we pray that Max would seek to glorify You, Lord. We notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to remind Max, and all who pray for him, that it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is in the powerful name of Jesus that we pray, asking for His will to be done in Max's life.
Finally, we offer a word of encouragement from Galatians 6:9, "Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Max has worked hard and overcome many challenges. May he see the fruit of his labor and remain steadfast in his faith and efforts.
Lord, we lift up Max to You, asking for Your blessings and guidance. May he shine for Your glory tonight. In Jesus' name, amen.
