We understand that you're going through a difficult time with your brother, and we're here to pray and provide counsel based on biblical principles. The strife and competition you're experiencing is not God's will for your relationship. God desires that brothers dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1).
Firstly, let's address the core issue here. The behavior your brother is exhibiting is not aligned with how God instructs us to treat each other. In Philippians 2:3-4 (WEB), it's written, "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Your brother should be encouraging and supporting you, not tearing you down.
However, you should also examine your own heart and actions. Are there any ways you might be contributing to this strife? Jesus said, "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:3 WEB). It's important to ensure that you're not provoking or retaliating, but instead responding with love and kindness.
Now, let's pray together for you and your brother.
"Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You, lifting up this situation. We ask that You work in this brother's heart, convicting him of his actions and turning his heart towards love and support. Help them both to put off pride, unmercifulness, anger and put on humbleness, meekness, longsuffering, bearing with one another and forgiving each other if any man has a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. (Colossians 3:12-13 WEB). Help them to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven them. (Ephesians 4:32 WEB)
We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would give them the strength to love their brother unconditionally, to forgive him for any wrongs, and to be a light that guides him to You.
Lastly, Father, we pray for their parents. Give them wisdom and discernment to see the truth in this situation and to act accordingly, not showing favoritism but dealing with each child justly and fairly.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, it's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. As it's written, "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you haven't already, consider accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Lastly, be encouraged by these words from Romans 12:18 (WEB), "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." Even if your brother continues in his behavior, know that you're doing what's right and pleasing to God by responding in love and kindness. Keep praying for him, and trust that God is working in his life.
