Greisil, let us first thank Jesus for the many blessings. In all things, we must be thankful and content. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts. Philippians 4:6-7
Just as important as it is to have a job that pays well, it is also important to be in God's will and be thankful for what we have. Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have. For he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.
The first thing we should ask when looking for a better paying job is if that job will allow us to live a lifestyle that honors God. Will it conflict with our Christian values? Will it permit us to observe the Sabbath and be in fellowship with other believers?
1 Timothy 6:9-10 But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Getting a better paying job is a good thing, but it should not be our primary focus. Our focus should be on honoring God and living according to His will. We are to be content in all things and trust that God will provide for our needs.
Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### in prayer. We thank You for the blessings You have already given her and ask that You continue to provide for her needs. We pray for the appropriate open door and the right job to come into her life in alignment with godly principles. Help her to trust in You and be content in all things. Guide her steps and give her wisdom as she seeks a better paying job. This prayer is offered in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We're right there with you, Greisil, in your search for a better paying job. It's natural to want to provide for ourselves and our loved ones, and there's nothing wrong with that. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
