We understand your concern about the potential benefits cuts and we stand with you in prayer, trusting in the power of Jesus' name. We are reminded in the World English Bible of John 14:13-14 where Jesus said: "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Firstly, let’s address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Now, let’s bring your concern before the Lord. We should always be mindful of the needs of others and pray for decisions that reflect God's compassion and justice. In Proverbs 31:8-9, it says: "Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
Let us pray:
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the situation regarding the proposed benefits cuts. We ask that You guide the hearts and minds of those in authority, that they may make decisions that align with Your will and Your compassion for the needy. We pray that any changes made would not cause undue hardship but instead reflect Your care for all people. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your love for all, knowing that You are a God of justice and mercy. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We also want to encourage you to continue trusting in God's provision and His ability to influence the decisions of those in authority. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We are reminded again in 1 Timothy 2:1-2: "First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
