Neha, we understand your pain and heartache as you face the possibility of divorce. We stand with you in prayer, believing in the power of God to restore and reconcile.
Firstly, we commend you for coming before the Lord in Jesus' name. It is indeed in His name that we have access to the Father, as it is written: "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." (John 16:23 WEB)
God indeed hates divorce, as He has declared: "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful." (Malachi 2:16 WEB)
However, we must also acknowledge that God has given us free will, and sometimes, people choose paths that are not His desire. It is not God who is causing the divorce, but the hardness of your husband's heart. Jesus taught about this when He said: "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so." (Matthew 19:8 WEB)
We pray that God will soften your husband's heart and change his mind. We pray that God will give you both a spirit of forgiveness, understanding, and love. We pray for reconciliation and the restoration of your marriage, just as God has been reconciled to us through Christ.
"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from God's wrath through him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life." (Romans 5:8-10 WEB)
We encourage you to continue to pray, to love, and to hope. Remember that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will make a way.
In Jesus' name, we pray for your marriage, Neha. We ask for God's will to be done, for His love to heal, and for His power to restore. Amen.
