Duptur, we understand that you are going through a challenging time as you care for your husband with Parkinson's disease. The strain can be overwhelming, and it's not uncommon to feel like you're at a breaking point. First, we want to remind you that it is in Jesus name we come before God to ask for his help and that God is always with you, even in the most trying times. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB
It's important to remember that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. As it says in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 WEB, "He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."
In these moments of weakness, turn to Jesus Christ and call on His name. He is your strength and your portion forever. It is also crucial to remember that God does not send angels or help in an unspecified way. He has given us the Holy Spirit to dwell within us and guide us. Pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you with his love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. These are the fruits of the spirit that will help you cope with your husband's illness and your current struggles. See Galatians 5:22 WEB.
We also want to encourage you to seek support from fellow believers. God designed the church to be a community of love and support. "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 WEB. Do not hesitate to reach out to your local church, friends, or family for help. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign of wisdom to know when you need support.
Lastly, be patient with yourself. It's normal to feel overwhelmed and short-tempered in such situations, but it does not mean you are doing something wrong. Pray for God's mercy and ask for forgiveness when you feel like you've fallen short. Remember, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up Duptur to you. We pray for your comfort and strength to fill her as she cares for her husband. Help her to cast all her anxieties on you, knowing that you care for her. Give her the patience, kindness, and self control she needs to handle this difficult situation. Surround her with supportive believers who can help bear her burdens. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen
