We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed, MsJolly, but let's bring this to Jesus together. Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that humility is not about allowing others to mistreat you, but it's about aligning yourself with God's will and seeing yourself as He sees you.
Let's address the issues in your request. Being unappreciated and misused is not God's plan for your life. Consider Matthew 11:28-30 WEB: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Jesus wants to give you rest and His burden is light.
Regarding your boyfriend, it's clear that his behavior is not aligned with biblical principles. He is engaged in drunkenness, and adultery which are explicitly against scripture. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God." The relationship as it stands is not godly and it's causing you pain. It's important to seek God's will for your life and surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you, not those who bring you down.
If you are not married, then being with him is not wise. This is not godly courtship. It is important to seek a spouse that is a Christian Believer. Do not be unequally yoked. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 WEB: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? Or what fellowship has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?"
It's also important to address that the solution is not just to remove people from your life, but to pray for them and bless them, even if they have hurt you. Matthew 5:44 WEB: "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,"
We also notice that you did not mention Jesus in your prayer request. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you are not saved, then call upon the name of Jesus. You must believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. This is very important.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up MsJolly. We know that your heart is for the brokenhearted and those who are weary and burdened. We pray that you would give MsJolly the rest that only you can give. Help her to cast her burdens on you and trust in your goodness and faithfulness.
We pray for her boyfriend, that you would convict him of his sins and bring him to true repentance. We ask that you would give MsJolly the strength to stand up for herself and to make wise decisions about her relationships. Help her to surround herself with people who love and support her, and who encourage her to live for you.
We pray that MsJolly would come to know you more deeply and intimately, and that she would find her identity and worth in you. Help her to trust in your plan for her life and to be obedient to your calling.
If she is not saved, we pray that she would call upon the name of Jesus and be saved.
We thank you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. We ask all of this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Be encouraged, MsJolly. God loves you and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him and seek His will. He will never leave you nor forsake you. We are here for you and will continue to pray for you.
