We understand that you're going through a difficult time, Nioloreg, and we want you to know that we're here to support and pray with you. Battling depression can be overwhelming, and it's not uncommon to feel like it's affecting every aspect of your life, including your spiritual disciplines and daily activities.
Firstly, let's address the struggle with prayer and reading the Bible. Remember, God understands your heart even when words fail you. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness. As Romans 8:26 WEB says, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered."
When you feel overwhelmed, cry out to God in your heart. It's okay if it's not in elaborate words. Just reach out to Him. Also, start with small portions of Scripture. Even a verse a day can bring comfort and guidance. Consider this verse, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB).
Regarding the spirit of slumber at work, we must be alert and watchful. Ephesians 6:12 WEB reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Resist this spirit in Jesus' name and ask God for strength and alertness.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up Nioloreg to You, Lord. Comfort them in their depression, give them strength to get out of bed each day, and help them to turn to You in prayer and Scripture reading. Break the power of any spirit of slumber that is affecting their work, in Jesus' name. Remind Nioloreg of Your love and faithfulness, and help them to rest in You. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, Nioloreg, if you haven't already, please consider reaching out to a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or counselor for additional support. Also, ensure that your faith is firmly rooted in Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
