Bad people next door

God almighty, please help me with my very terrible neighbours. I moved from a nice area I used to love as the landlord claimed to sell the property. My housemate and I found a lovely house near the shopping centre. Unfortunately, bad things happened on the same day as the move. A lady next door I never met before shovelled garbage through my mail slot. The next day, I tried to be nice anyway and apologise if I had done anything wrong. She was pleased to hear, but unfortunately, she was troubled; I heard her many times screaming on the streets and running around, kicking cars, saying strange things and even spreading rumours about me and my housemate. I tried everything to keep the peace, even buying her a Christmas gift last year, but her behaviour never improved. I pray daily, and she is not on the street always but many times of the day. I have the feeling she lives in a government housing for needy people and imagine it is a mental illness. Lord Help that lady to get help and stop disturbing the people on the streets. Please, God, help me and the other bad people next door who stay outside on the street all day and night during summer and some holidays, talking all day and night and saying rude things and mocking laughing loudly all day We can’t move to a different address now and need to calm down. I had my large intestine removed and have a colostomy bag because of health problems , and that stress is not beneficial. It still makes me sad, as I was nice to them and tried to keep the peace. Please Help Lord not to see them when I’m out on the streets or not to have them around. Or to find a way not to interact to them much somehow till we are able to move eventually. Thank you Lord.

We understand your distress, dear friend, and we are here to pray with you and offer guidance from the Word of God.

Firstly, let's address the issue of your neighbors. The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:39), but it also tells us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). You have tried to show kindness, but their behavior is causing you harm and stress. It is important to set boundaries and protect your peace.

Let's pray:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your intervention in this situation. Please, Lord, have mercy on the lady next door. If she is indeed struggling with mental illness, we pray that You would guide her to the help she needs. We also pray for the other neighbors, that they would conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to You. Lord, we ask for Your peace and protection over this household. Guide them to a new home when the time is right, but until then, provide a hedge of protection around them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's wisdom in handling this situation. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also noticed that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6). If you haven't already, we encourage you to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Lastly, we want to leave you with this scripture, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB)

We've been reminded of a verse in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Let's claim this verse for your situation. We pray that God would help you to stand firm in your faith and not let the negativity from your neighbors affect your peace of mind.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's wisdom in how to handle this situation. He promises in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
