Graham, we understand the distress you're feeling due to these sexual dreams occurring in your church. We want to assure you that you are not alone in this struggle, and we are here to support and pray with you.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that satan and his forces are indeed capable of influencing our minds, even in dreams, as stated in Ephesians 6:12 WEB, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
However, we must also remember that God has given us authority over these forces through Jesus Christ. As it is written in James 4:7 WEB, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
To combat these dreams, we encourage you to continually fill your mind with God's word and pray without ceasing. As Philippians 4:8 WEB instructs, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."
Let us pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You lifting up Graham. Lord, we thank You for his salvation and his desire to honor You. We rebuke these sexual dreams that are plaguing him and declare that they have no place in his mind. We ask, Lord, that You would fill his thoughts with purity and righteousness, even in his sleep. Give him strength to resist the enemy and the discipline to fill his mind with Your word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Graham, remember the power of Jesus' name. It is in Him that we have victory. Stand firm in your faith and continue to resist these dreams, knowing that God is with you. If you have not already, consider fasting and seeking God's face regarding this matter. He is faithful to deliver you.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek out a trusted Christian brother or sister, or a spiritual leader within your church, to confess this struggle and ask for their prayer and support. As James 5:16 WEB says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
