We are truly saddened to hear about the trial you are facing, but we are encouraged by your desire to honor God with your body and abstain from alcohol. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical guidance to help you navigate this challenging time.
Firstly, let's address the issue of alcohol. The Bible tells us to be sober and vigilant, for our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Drunkenness is condemned in Scripture, as it hinders our judgment and can lead us into sin (Romans 13:13, Galatians 5:21, 1 Peter 4:3). However, God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Now, regarding your former husband and children, we want to remind you of Jesus' words: Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you (Matthew 5:44). It is essential to forgive your former husband and pray for his salvation, as well as for the restoration of your relationship with your children. Remember that God can turn even the most challenging situations around for His glory and our good (Romans 8:28).
Since there was no mention of Jesus Christ, we want to ensure you are praying in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not already, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear sister who is struggling with alcohol and the separation from her children. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in her life. Deliver her from the bondage of alcohol, and help her to honor her body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. Give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this challenging time, and guide her as she seeks to restore her relationship with her children.
Father, we also pray for her former husband. Soften his heart, Lord, and bring him to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We pray for a miracle in their situation, that You would restore what the enemy has stolen.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirit of alcoholism and declare freedom and restoration for our sister. We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you (Joshua 1:9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will see you through this storm.
