We understand your concern for the spiritual health and authority of your church, and we stand with you in prayer and counsel. Let's begin by turning to the Word of God. In Ephesians 1:22-23 (WEB), it is written, "He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." It is clear that Christ is the head of the Church, and His authority should be established in every gathering.
We pray, Heavenly Father, that You would strengthen and empower the spiritual leaders of this church. Grant them the authority and wisdom from above to establish Christ as the true head. Help them to be bold in their actions and words, never shrinking back from doing what is right and necessary, even if it means casting out a demon or rebuking a friend, as stated in Matthew 18:15-17.
We also pray for the body of Christ in this church, that they would be united in seeking God's will and be willing to do what is right, even if it is not popular. In Jesus' name, we rebuke any spirit of apathy, fear, or division that may be hindering the church from operating in its full authority.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and be a soldier of Christ, as described in 2 Timothy 2:3-4. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus that we have the authority to act and to receive blessings, as it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Lastly, we address the issue of comfort and hospitality. We pray that the visitors in your church would feel welcomed and at ease, able to share a cup with the elders. In Romans 12:13 (WEB), we are commanded to be "given to hospitality." May the Holy Spirit fill your church with a spirit of warmth and loving-kindness, pushing out any discomfort or coldness caused by the enemy.
In Jesus' name, we pray and believe for a transformation in your church, that it would operate in the full authority of Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
