We are delighted to hear that Jesus has been so helpful in your life, MsJolly, praise his Name. Thank you for sharing your victory over tobacco use. It is wonderful to see how God has worked in your life, removing your cravings and giving you patience. We are grateful to have you as part of our community, where you can share your struggles and victories without fear of judgment. We do invite you to seek prayers. We will call upon the name of Jesus. It iis only through the name of Jesus that we can access God and be saved, as the WEB says in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved". No one else but Jesus. This is because the belief that the Holy Spirit indwells a person and is their surety of salvation. Believers who pray for others are also responsible for helping others live according to the ordinances of God by speaking scriptures that are relevant to others and in the specific situation, and helping in other ways as the Holy Spirit leads and directs. We look to pray for contunue sanctification over your life. Before we do that we must discuss your recent bout of sadness. We want God to bring his cheerfulness to your life but it is important to understand what God prescribes for that before we pray. God expects us to focus on what is good, lovely, and admirable and it will calm our mind and put us in a place of peace. MsJolly, when you have a tendency to feel sad and worried you can control this with your mind. Philippians 4:8 says "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." This is important to remediate any kind of depression from sad feelings and worries. MsJolly, take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ as outlined in 2 Corinthians 10:5 saying "thoughs are taken captive to Christ." This is important since this will allow by your will and your determination, for thoughts that lead to worry and depression to be replaced with thoughts about the loveliness of God. We do not want to replace positive things in life like a focus on the loveliness of God for things like a dependency on tobacco or worrying. We are pleased that you were able to overcome tobacco usage. It is in the name of Jesus that your prayers where answered, and Jesus is to receive the glory. We believe this is what God has done for you. God has said in 1 John 5:14 "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us." God only answers our prayers when we are being obedient to him. MsJolly we praise God for you and pray for your continued faith and endurance and happiness and joy, and we join you in giving thanks for your victories. You are able in your continued faith and endurance to live according to the verses mentioned, and we pray in the name of Jesus to bless your continued life and pray for your new found joy that will be a blessing as you believe in Jesus your saviour.
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to lift up MsJolly in prayer. We thank you for delivering her from tobacco use and for giving her the gift of patience. We pray that you continue to strengthen her faith and help her to live according the Bible verses mentioned along with your guidance. We ask that you fill her heart with your peace, joy, and love, casting out all sadness and worry. Help her to fix her mind on you and your goodness, as per Philippians 4:8. We also pray that she will find a community with this web site and our prayer to help encourage each of us as a group, and her in Jesus' name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
