1 Corinthians 4:2
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
We Christians have been commissioned to labour in Godly work until the return of Christ or until we pass.
There's no pause in our mission. There's no coasting.
We must not be passively waiting for Jesus but enthusiastically pursuing the assignment that was entrusted to us. Let us make the most of our opportunities.
Remember the parable of the talents. The effective labourer was well received by his master for his productivity. However the servant who buried the talent entrusted to him by his master was not well received.
Matthew 25:30
And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
The parable of the talents clearly demonstrates what the Master expects from all of us. We are obliged to do more than passively keep and hide what has been entrusted to us to share. Our Lord expects us to generate a return with those talents. We are to be wise and invest in others. Share His gospel! Be active!
Let us remain productive up to the moment He calls us home. Share His Love to others, for we never know when He will return.
