If you are listening to the news everyday, you see many people are reeling without hope. Some people believe our nation is doomed and who can blame them. We have allowed God to be taken out of everything. Our economy and infrastructure is imploding because of this pandemic. Over 25 million people are without jobs, states are closed, possible meat shortages, food lines, businesses going bankrupt, death, lies, corrupt media, riots and looting. The list can go on and on.

But throughout scripture - God provides a way of redemption. He has a different plan if we would listen and heed His word. Just like Ninevah, they were a sinful and rebellious people, so is the United States. We need to know and feel the security of God's provision not in our government or world. We are in a path of self destruction as was Ninevah. This storm is revealing people's character and our impending doom if we don't do something about it.

I heard someone in an interview the other day talking about how we didn't see it coming and he said something that I thought was interesting. He said, "the problem with most people is that they don't believe something can happen until it already has. It's not stupidity or weakness, it is just human nature". As a nation we didn't think that something like 911 would ever have happened to the United States but yet it did. The same thing with this pandemic. Who would have ever imagined we would be in the situation we find ourselves in today.

So what do we do about it? Well the church needs to wake up and fight this storm head on. We are all in the same storm yet in different size boats. But you know a good Captain can be a game changer. So who is your Captain - yourself or God? We need to trust and wait with joyful expectation to see God's hand at work in our situation. As believers, we need to reach out to people in need and not just physically but spiritually as well. God wants us to be like Jonah and spread the gospel and preach repentance and salvation to the lost nation. Don't think we can't have a great revival in this nation, because anything is possible. Look at what we are experiencing. Anything can happen!

Pray for God to open the door to many opportunities in your day to day lives. Pray for revival and hearts to be turned to God during this time. Pray for God's mercy and love to be spread through you. In James 1:5, it says, "the promise of guidance is given to those who will listen and obey". We can't be just hearer's of the word, we must be doers of the word.

So ask yourself, are you going to be the Jonah at the beginning of the story or the Jonah at the end of the story? This is your choice. I am sure you won't get swallowed by a great fish if you are choosing to be the first Jonah but you won't be doing what God has asked us to do.

Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 states, "Consider what God has done; who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider; God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future."

God is in control, we are not! David stated in Psalm 142:3, "when my spirit was overwhelmed within me, you knew my path". God knows our path and we need to surrender to Him and allow His peace to overtake us. Have mercy on us O Lord! Light the fire in every believer so that your light only will shine in this dark world!

I believe with you for revival and actual preaching while we still can do it without being arrested and then we get arrested for preaching the word unless someone pro-free speech wins — we see how pro-free speech and pro-freedom to assemble for church one party is if it’s for strengthening Biblical faith... Get ready for persecution like China persecutes its Christians...

I agree but I will do whatever God wants me to do. My trust is fully in Him and if I die for Him, then so be it! I have seen God's hand in so many things in my life that I know he is working things out for good and for His purpose.

Yes, I understand and appreciate your resolve — I just wonder how many are preaching the gospel now while it’s legal? Jesus said the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Matt 26:41). I think the proper order is to pray for authorities and share the gospel now (publicly I might add, online has a vested interest), some have been doing that and there is a great contest of warfare around this. Some have also preached the true gospel (fall of man, all have sinned, God is just, God has to punish sin, Jesus was sinless, substitutionary death for our sins, repentance from sin and faith in God’s way of making people righteous through The only Way, Truth and Life, his resurrection and ascension and 2nd coming). It has been quite intense and they are not looking forward to increased trials.

“If you have run with footmen and they have tired you out, Then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, How will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭12:5‬ ‭NASB‬‬

You are so right! The only thing I struggle with is trying to get my Catholic family and my husbands family to accept anything we say. They think we are in some cult. The spirit of pride and religious spirit are at work in them. We keep praying and sharing. Any help with that you can offer?

The early church had a saying,”fasting and giving lends wings to prayer.” We are really practicing the faith when we pray for and share with our family members and friends. When one reads Revelation, it is often astonishing that though the bowls and trumpets increase as birth pangs in frequency and intensity, the world does not repent (in fulness).

Praying is powerful and allows the gospel to increase effectiveness. It may be a good course to see that some of the Catholic ministers throughout the ages were saved and their writings are still potent with saving truth. Possibly read and share some things from Origen, Tertullian, Cyprian, Ambrose some of the early church fathers until Augustine. That is relatively time consuming, but beautiful and feeds the soul — it’s ok if some of the writings of humans are quoted as long as they were accurate in the message of Scripture.

Pray for open doors and choose the words of Scripture so The Holy Spirit has something to work with as it is written in John 14:26. Continue to fellowship with God so You can be filled and open to words of wisdom and words of knowledge. You can also post for their salvation and gain some prayer there. If all were doing this it would halp bring an instantaneous awakening and revival. May God protect you under the shelter of His Wings (Ps 91).

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:26-27‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Whoops — Origen was heretical... I haven’t read the church fathers in over 10 years and was going off memory (shows how much weight I put in them — little compared to the Scriptures Old and New, which by God’s grace is a lifelong study.

Thank God I just saw a speaker mention Origen and I recant the above reference to him. A lot of them were very accurate for the first 250 years or so of the early church. God bless
