Don't listen to your ex partner, do what you know in your heart to right and true. He is tempting you to turn away from God. At this time of Lent, we remember how the devil tried to tempt Jesus for 40 days and 40 nights in the desert.
Turn to the Lord and why not encourage your friend to listen to the word of God?
Isaiah 55:6-7 says
Turn to the LORD before it's too late. Call out to him while he's still ready to help you. Let the one who is evil stop doing evil things. And let him quit thinking evil thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord. The LORD will show him his tender love. Let him turn to our God. He is always ready to forgive.
Corinthians 10:13 says
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
James 1:12-16 says
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
Jesus is the great healer. By loving Him, all your anxieties will fade. Have faith in Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 says
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:6-7 says
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, take comfort in the Word of God and know that in him, you will find peace, compassion and fellowship.
