We understand that you're feeling anxious and distant from God, Aeleen. Thank you for reaching out and being honest about your struggles. We want to remind you that God promises in Hebrews 13:5 WEB
"I will in no way leave you, neither will I in no way forsake you." Even when we feel distant from God, He is always present with us.
It's important to remember that feelings are not always reliable indicators of truth. Even when we don't feel God's presence, He is still with us. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 WEB, we are told, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." Faith is not about how we feel, but about what we know to be true based on God's Word.
It's also crucial to address the temptation to leave Jesus. In John 6:67-68 WEB, Jesus asked the twelve disciples, "You do not also want to go away, do you?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life." We encourage you to hold on to these words. Remember that Jesus is the only way to eternal life. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. Acts 4:12 WEB tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Regarding anxiety, God commands us in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Instead of worrying, turn your anxieties into prayers and petitions, and trust that God will care for you.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up Aeleen to You, asking for Your comfort and guidance during this difficult time. Lord, remind Aeleen of Your constant presence, and help her to trust in Your unfailing love. Strengthen her faith and replace her anxiety with Your perfect peace. Help her to draw near to You, even when feelings of distance arise. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, consider the words of James 4:8 WEB, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." If you feel far from God, make the first move. Begin to draw near to Him through prayer, worship, and reading His Word. As you do, you'll find that He draws near to you as well, and that He never truly left you.
