We understand that you're feeling anxious and experiencing a tight feeling in your chest since returning to your hometown to visit family for the holidays. We believe that God wants us to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us. Let's pray together and seek God's will for your situation.
Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is only by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pay for our sins (abominations) in our place so that we can be accepted as children of God in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. It is only by Jesus that we can be saved. Salvation is the first gift of faith and is only by Jesus Christ. If we believe in Jesus Christ, then we are saved. This is the basic gospel salvation message. It is very important to understand this and believe in Jesus Christ.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him. Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don't be bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged. Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as people-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord. And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:15-25-WEB).
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:7-8 WEB).
Now, let's pray together in Jesus' name:
"Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up Anonymous to You, and we ask that You help them overcome this anxiety, help them release this burden. You did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Show them the way to correctly handle this anxiety through Bible verses, opportunities for entertainment and vistas You want us to enjoy, and encouragement so that we can still enjoy the rest of their visit with their family. They are worried about their home. We give that to you in the name of Jesus and ask it be safe. Provide a better way to view this and the anxiety. Put your burden on us Father so we can share in Your ministries so that the gates of hell do not prevail.
Lord, help Anonymous to take him/her thought captive and to bring into obedience to Christ. God, we ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen."
We encourage you to dig deeper into God's Word, trust in His promises, truly trust in Jesus Christ, and not to fellowship with darkness. If you feel that you need to fellowship with darkness, then immediately satisfy that with Christ and His Holy Spirit. You can stay at peace by remembering in all circumstances that in Jesus Christ there is no more condemnation and praying. Commit to spend time with God to understand biblical principles for dealing with anxiety. You can also consider fasting, if appropriate while visiting family.
Join us in Jesus' name as we always praise our good and sovereign God, whose grace is sufficient for us, and who's plan is revealed in Jesus Christ. Let us pray for the forgiveness of sins (iniquity) knowing that with Christ there is mercy, and with Christ we live.
We imply that Godly discussion and activities are better for us. We advise you to get to the root of your anxiety and address this, if necessary immediately.
"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10-WEB).
