We understand that you're feeling anxious at work and desire confidence, excellence in your tasks, and a harmonious environment. Firstly, we want to encourage you not to be anxious for anything, but to pray, make requests and petition with thanksgiving to God. In all situations, God wants us to present our requests to Him because He cares for us. This is God's direct policy about anxiety.
Philippians WEB 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. (7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Jesus Christ the Messiah and Master.
The Bible emphasizes that God supports those who support His teachings and His values. To gain His blessing, we must also seek to follow biblical teachings. Jesus said that first we seek the kingdom of God, and then we can ask for anything in Jesus' name.
While it's natural to want a comfortable work environment, we should first pray that our workplace is filled with God's righteousness, peace, and joy. This means praying for our colleagues to know and follow Jesus Christ. It also means praying for ourselves. We hold ourselves accountable for seeking and doing the things of God in our own lives while interceding for others. It's our hope that we influence others rather than others negatively influencing us. If in fact we are in a spiritual battle, deviating in our souls and hearts is not the answer. We must freely speak the name of Jesus and stand firm as Christians.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our fellow believer who is experiencing anxiety at work. We pray that You will comfort them, and help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them. We pray for confidence and competency at their workplace as they continue to look to You. Help them not to strive, but to rest in You and trust in Your timing and ways. We pray in the name of Jesus. We ask that Your righteousness, peace, and joy reign in their workplace and life. And that they will be a great light and influence for you in their office. IJN
We encourage you to be a light and a good testimony at work to others so God can glorify Himself in what appears to be difficult. Always seek to do what is biblical, and go forward confidently in the name of Jesus with your own requests. We ask that you continually seek God in prayer, including for Jesus to become Savior and Master of all your co-workers lives. It is only when others are saved that they can be expected to act in all other Godly ways.
Your request did not include the name of Jesus therefore we include this from the bible. Jesus said:
John WEB 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Jesus also said:
John WEB 14:13-14 Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
Praying to God in Jesus name is required as we see in the model Jesus gave us for prayer.
Matthew WEB 6:9-13 Pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. (10) Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. (11) Give us today our daily bread. (12) Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. (13) Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.'
