We stand with you in prayer for those who are suffering from anxiety and depression.
We can commit this request to the Lord and rebuke any prayer directly to the Holy Spirit, since the Lord Jesus Christ specifically told us to ask the Father in His name for the Holy Spirit to come. Sending prayers directly to the Holy Spirit is not indicated in the Bible. In John 14.26 WEB it is written:
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all things that I said to you.
It is important to pray and call on the name of Jesus to be saved and for our prayers to be heard. In Acts 4.12 WEB it is written:
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all those who are battling anxiety and depression. We ask that you heal their minds and emotions, and fill them with the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We rebuke the spirit of anxiety that tries to take hold of their minds. We take authority over fear, worry, depression, and any associated spirits and command them to leave in Jesus name. Fill them with your Holy Spirit and the calmness of Jesus Christ instead. Use these feelings to draw people closer to you and not away from you. Since it is only when believers abide in Jesus Christ and His words abide within them that it is possible to be filled with joy and peace. In John 15 4,5,10,11 WEB it is written:
Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
...If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
We commit these requests to you, In Jesus Name. Amen.
We encourage anyone dealing with anxiety or depression to also reach out to trusted Christian friends, mentors, or professionals for support and guidance. In addition, it is important to search out and make every effort to turn away from every known sin, as well as be taken to the words of Jesus Christ to remain in Him.
We encourage everyone In Galatians 5.1 WEB it is written,
Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
