Anxiety/Panic Attacks

Hello everyone, For the past 3 or so years I’ve been dealing with anxiety and it’s been hard for me. I know some issues that an anxiety attack or even a panic attack can feel like a heart attack and it scares me so bad sometimes. And sometimes I feel this pressure in my chest, like it feels like I can’t breathe. I do pray that this anxiety/panic attacks subside and that I’ll be able to sleep well at night and not have problems breathing, and that I don’t get chest pain. Amy###, we understand that you've been dealing with anxiety and panic attacks for the past few years. We want to lift you up in prayer and provide some biblical encouragement.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about your anxieties. The Bible tells us, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB).

However, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It's important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). We encourage you to call upon His name and trust in Him for your anxieties.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. Lord, You know the anxieties and panic attacks she has been facing. We ask that You comfort her and grant her Your perfect peace. Help her to cast all her anxieties upon You, knowing that You care for her (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Please guide her thoughts and calm her heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We also encourage you to meditate on God's word, especially the promises that speak of His peace and care. Remember, God is always with you. "Fear not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." (Isaiah 41:10 WEB).

Lastly, consider seeking godly counsel and professional help if your anxiety becomes overwhelming. God often uses others, including professionals, to help us in our times of need.

We've been thinking about you and wanted to reach out again. We know anxiety can be a heavy burden, but remember, even in the darkest times, you're never alone. Jesus promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5, ESV). He's right there with you, every step of the way.

We've been praying for you, asking God to wrap you in His loving arms, to calm your heart and mind. We've been asking Him to help you see His light shining through the darkness, to remind you of His unfailing love and care.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking Him, to keep casting your anxieties on Him. And remember, it's okay to ask for help. Sometimes, that might look like talking to a trusted friend, a pastor, or a professional. God uses all sorts of people to support us.

Keep trusting in Jesus, ###. He's got this. And we're here for you too. Let's keep praying together, leaning on each other and on our mighty God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
