Brimen

Disciple of Prayer
Prayer against tormenting spirits Prayer against the spirit of fear Prayer against depression Prayer against impostor syndrome Background: Ever since I got promoted to a senior executive position in a non-profit organisation I have been facing a lot of spiritual attacks. Unfortunately I have also been burned out because the organisation has been struggling since the 2020 pandemic . In 2019, I was led to fast for much of the year and since then every year the attacks keep getting stronger. The organisation is closing down its UK office. The Nigerian office is the one I am in charge of. I have been here for close to 13 years. With a board of trustees that seem to always find fault with all that we do, I feel like I am not good enough and I want to resign. I battled bouts of depressions for the majority of 2024 and I became suicidal. I have prayed and I have asked others to pray but I seem not to get any respite and to make it worse I got angry with God. Like yourselves the Lord led me to Nigeria more than 20 years ago. I have not seen my family since then and frankly I wonder if the cost of obedience is just pain. I am a prophetic intercessor but I feel so heartbroken. I am 50 years old and I thought by now, my ducks would have been in a row but it always seems that I am in survival mode and constantly going through unending dark tunnels. Sometimes I want to walk away from the Lord because it seems it's always one fight after the other. I hardly have a support system. I feel isolated, alone and really just struggling to exist. I need help

Brimen, we understand that you are going through a tremendously challenging time, and we want to assure you that you are not alone. The battles you're facingโ€”anxiety, depression, loneliness, and spiritual attacksโ€”are real and significant, but we serve a God who is greater than any challenge we face.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that our struggles are not just physical or emotional; they are often spiritual battles as well. The Apostle Paul reminds us, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the worldโ€™s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 WEB.

Your feelings of inadequacy and impostor syndrome are not uncommon, but they are not from God. God has called you to your position and has equipped you for it. Remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 WEB.

It's also important to address the spiritual attacks and feelings of depression and suicide. These are serious issues that require both spiritual and professional help. God cares deeply about your pain and wants to heal and restore you. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 WEB.

Regarding your feelings of anger towards God, remember that it's okay to be honest with God about your emotions. Many psalms express raw and honest emotions to God. However, it's essential to keep communicating with Him and trusting in His goodness. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger rests in the lap of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9 WEB.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and support. It's not God's will for you to be isolated. Bear one anotherโ€™s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 WEB. This could mean reaching out to trusted Christian friends, mentors, or professional counselors.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the hope you have in Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB. Fix your thoughts on Jesus and trust that He has a purpose and a plan for you, even in this difficult season.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up ### to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their life. Lord, You see the struggles, the pain, and the battles they are facing. We pray against the spirits of anxiety, depression, loneliness, fear, and impostor syndrome. We bind them in the mighty name of Jesus and command them to leave. Lord, surround ### with Your peace, Your love, and Your joy.

Father, we also pray for healing and restoration. Touch every area of their lifeโ€”spirit, soul, and bodyโ€”and make them whole again. Give them the strength to endure, to hope, and to trust in You.

Lord, provide ### with a godly support system, people who will encourage, uplift, and pray with them. Guide them to the right professional help if needed.

Father, we also pray for ###'s relationship with You. Draw them closer to You, Lord. Help them to cast all their cares on You and to trust in Your unfailing love.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Please do not take any permanent step at this time. Seek out a professional and or a trusted Christian friend to help you get through this.

Beloved Brimen, I want you to know that you are not forgotten. The weight you carry is immense, and the battles you have fought are real, but you are still standing because God has sustained you. The enemy would not fight you so fiercely if there wasnโ€™t something powerful upon your life.

You have been in the fire, and it has been relentless, but fire refines gold. What you are enduring is not a sign of failureโ€”it is evidence of your impact in the kingdom of God. You are not an impostor. You are not unworthy. You are not forgotten. You are a mighty warrior, even when you feel weak.

I know the loneliness is overwhelming, and the cost of obedience feels unbearable. But the Lord is near to you, even in the silence. The enemy wants to isolate you, but you are not alone. I pray that God surrounds you with people who will lift your hands when you canโ€™t lift them yourself.

You have given so much, poured out so much, and endured so much. But your story does not end in despair. There is still more for you. There is still life, joy, and purpose beyond this tunnel. You will not only surviveโ€”you will thrive. Hold on, dear one. God is with you, even in this. Here are some powerful prayers for healing to help you through this difficult time:

Heavenly Father,

I lift up Your beloved servant before You, the one You have called, anointed, and sent forth for such a time as this. Lord, You see the depths of their heartโ€”the weariness, the pain, the loneliness, and the battle they have endured for years. You are the God who sees (El Roi), the God who heals (Jehovah Rapha), and the God who delivers (Jehovah Nissi). Right now, I ask that You stretch forth Your mighty hand and bring healing and restoration to their mind, soul, and body.

Against Tormenting Spirits:
In the mighty name of Jesus, I come against every tormenting spirit that seeks to oppress, discourage, and weaken Your servant. Every voice of accusation, every whisper of failure, and every scheme of the enemy to wear them downโ€”let it be silenced now by the power of the Holy Spirit! I declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. Let the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

Against the Spirit of Fear:
Lord, Your Word declares that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I rebuke the spirit of fear that has sought to paralyze and burden this beloved one. Instead, fill them with courage, boldness, and divine confidence in Your plans. May they walk in the assurance that You go before them, that You hold their future in Your hands, and that You will never forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Against Depression:
Father, Your Word tells us that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Depression and despair have weighed heavily, but Lord, You are the lifter of their head (Psalm 3:3). Break the chains of hopelessness! Breathe new life into their soul. Restore the joy of their salvation. Let the light of Your love pierce through every dark place, reminding them that they are seen, known, and deeply cherished.

Against Impostor Syndrome:
Lord, when the enemy tries to whisper that they are not good enough, remind them of who they are in You. They are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). They are chosen, equipped, and placed in their position by Your divine will. Let every voice of doubt and inadequacy be drowned out by Your truth. Strengthen them to stand firm in their calling, knowing that it is not by their might, but by Your Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Renewal and Strength:
Lord, Your servant is weary from years of battle. They feel alone, unseen, and burdened by unending struggles. But You are the God who renews our strength (Isaiah 40:31). Even now, I pray for a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit to breathe upon them. Let the oil of gladness replace the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Restore what has been lost. Bring trustworthy, godly support into their lifeโ€”people who will stand with them, uplift them, and remind them that they are not alone.

Father, when obedience feels like endless pain, remind them of the eternal reward that awaits. When discouragement whispers, let them hear Your voice louder. Strengthen their hands to keep building, their heart to keep believing, and their spirit to keep trusting. Let them know, without a doubt, that they are seen, that their labor is not in vain, and that their story is not over.

In Jesusโ€™ mighty name, I pray.
Amen.
