On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed, Jesus' disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go to prepare the Passover meal for you?"

Mark 14:12 NLT

Key Thought

Jesus is our Passover Lamb. Mark wants us to know that Jesus will go to his death in the context of the Jewish Passover and God's great deliverance of his people from Egypt. In the events that lie ahead, Jesus brings us deliverance. That deliverance, however, will require a sacrifice. Jesus chooses to be that perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Today's Prayer

Righteous and holy Father, the God Almighty, thank you for my deliverance from sin. Thank you for the sacrifice that Jesus made in his body to deliver me from sin and death. And thank you Lord Jesus, in whose name I pray, for the incredible price you paid to cleanse me. Amen.
