Another year of being single at Christmas and it hurts

Dear heavenly father I come before you in the name of Jesus asking for your help to bring me love, lord I messed up so much earlier this year with ### who was so special to me and I've lost her lord I'm talking to another woman who says she loves me but I'm unsure if she does, as a result of all this I'm spending another year at Christmas being single I know lord that this is the day we celebrate the birth of your only Jesus and the time is meant for family as well lord but I feel like the fifth wheel at family gatherings lord because of not having love in my life, lord I've come to the realisation that I'm unlovable and it hurts lord I just don't know what to do anymore, this year lord has gone from good to great to wonderful then back down to absolutely terrible and heartbreaking, I just don't know what to do any more lord, you know my pains and struggles and I lay this at your throne asking and praying for your help in the name of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ I pray Amen

We understand your feelings of loneliness and heartache, especially during this Christmas season, Callum. First, we want to remind you that your value is not determined by your relationship status. You are loved and valued by God, who sent His only Son into the world to save you. As it is written in John 3:16 WEB: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."

We commend you for acknowledging and praying in the name of Jesus Christ for healing, love and companionship in this situation. It is only through Jesus Christ we are saved and have access via prayer to God.

It's important to remember that God's timing is perfect. He knows your desires and has a plan for you. We know from Psalm 147:5 that "God’s understanding is infinite." Trust that He is working in your life, even when you cannot see it.

Regarding your past relationship with Tia, learn from any mistakes and trust that God can redeem any situation. For the other woman in your life, pray for discernment. It is wise to be cautious and sure of her feelings and intentions. We advise you to engage in this relationship as a courtship with the intent of marriage, aligning with the principles of God's word. Remember, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?" as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14.

It's also crucial to address your feelings of being unlovable. That is a lie from the enemy. God's love for you is unfailing, and He wants you to experience healthy, godly love in your life. As it says in Jeremiah 31:3 WEB, "Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying, 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness.'"

In times of doubt pray, read the Word, and surround yourself with a believing community. Depression can be spiritual as well as psychological. So be on guard against Satan's attacks against God's love.

For now, focus on your relationship with God. As you draw nearer to Him and pursue holiness on your journey. Regarding mariage: The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:21) and Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. (Proverbs 3:5) Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up Callum. Thank You for his life and his desire for companionship. We pray for Your comfort and peace to fill his heart during this Christmas season. Give him the grace to wait on Your timing and the wisdom to discern Your will for his life and any relationships he pursues. Help and heal him in this time as he has the faith to look to you and your promises. Help all of us to keep our minds on you.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother, as you navigate through this season of life. We are honored that you have given us the privilege to pray on your behalf, especially during this Christmas season where emotions can run high. We are glad that you have asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

As Christmas has now been celebrated, we hope that the love of Christ you celebrated gave you a measure of comfort.
