Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, on behalf of Steven Bobb, who is seeking clarity and understanding regarding the topic of losing salvation. Lord, we acknowledge that Your Word contains various passages that may seem conflicting on this matter. We humbly ask for Your wisdom and guidance to discern the truth.
Firstly, we thank You for the assurance that once we have committed our souls to Christ, You will never allow us to perish. Your Word declares, "The gifts and calling of God are without repentance" . We are grateful for the promise that You have chosen us for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth .
However, we also recognize the warnings in Scripture about the dangers of backsliding and returning to the world. Your Word cautions us about those who, like a dog returning to its vomit or a sow to rolling in the mire, turn away from You . These verses remind us of the importance of remaining steadfast in our faith and not allowing ourselves to be entangled in the ways of the world.
Lord, we seek clarity and understanding in this matter. Help us to grasp the balance between our free will and Your sovereign grace. We trust in Your faithfulness and the power of Christ's intercession for us. Your Word assures us that Jesus is able to save to the uttermost all who come to You and that He is able to keep us from falling .
We pray for Steven Bobb and all those who may be wrestling with this question. Grant them discernment and peace as they seek to understand Your truth. May they find comfort in knowing that You are able to keep them secure in Your love and that nothing can separate them from Your love .
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
