HI everyone!
Sorry I've been gone for the last couple of days. Tomorrow or the next day I plan to start praying for the requests on this board; I've just been indisposed.
However, I've got a praise report for you! Last Wednesday, August 19th, sometime between 2-2:30 pm, we had a small tornado, about an F-1, travel down *a street* in our neighborhood. It either *touched* down right after my house, or *touched* down on the street right near my house. It was amazing, however: we suffered absolutely no damage to the house and only had a large couple of branches torn off our trees; compared to the rest of the neighborhood, the branches weren't even that large! To give you a *perspective*: the house just across the street from us had a large tree that was uprooted; according to my roommates, you could see the rootball. Just south of us in the neighborhood, tree damage was pretty extensive. Even the house next to us had a large tree in back that had a much larger branch torn off **its** trunk!
To be truthful, we *did* have a bunch of stuff blown down in our yard; however, none of these items were really broken--such as the arbor and the tent--and it took only 45 minutes of cleanup. We have absolutely no monetary damage, and even the two trees that lost the two good-sized branches aren't really hurt; they'll recover.
My point in all this?? Heavenly Father and Our Lord Jesus really *do* protect their own!! God was and is with us, and He protects our household. There's one more testimony to the Reality that
A mighty Fortress is our God! and:
"The Name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous run to it and are safe" (Proverbs 18:10, NKJV).
Even with the capriciousness of a tornado, there's no real explanation for our incredible lack of damage except that the hand of the Lord God of Israel was on us that day and is on us now.
Praise to You, Father, and to the Lamb!!
