Pray for me! I'm a musician and I have a duo gig performance with another musician on Monday.
The gig was given to me by another female musician who couldn't take it. In between the back
and forth discussions with the client I decided that it would be best to add on another musician to accompany
me on the gig based on what the client was requesting for the Monday event.
Trying to be professional, I added the other male musician on the email chain with the client which ended up being a mistake.
The male musician took charge of the gig and started acting like he was in charge of the gig and it was HIS event (even though
I added him on the gig). He went ahead and sent the client a contract without cc'ing me on the email and when I called him on it,
he blind carbon copied me on the email the contract in the contract it is kind of shady the way he worded it. The gig is $1,000, 500 for each musician
and he is requesting a deposit of $500 to be make out to HIM prior to the event on Monday. So if the gig gets canceled he gets paid anyway, and nowhere
in the contract is my name. Now, I've done gigs with him on his other band before and he always paid me, HOWEVER, this was my client and my gig!
He's not a Christian so he is operating out of the flesh.
Am I wrong for feeling angry that he took advantage? I'm angry but I don't know if I am supposed
to feel that way (since I'm supposed to be a good Christian and "nice" all the time). My husband said to just do the gig and get your money and next time don't add
ANYONE on the email or phone correspondence with a client, that's my job.
Please pray, for justice, peace of mind, and that God will guide me on how to react and what to say etc.
Thanks!
