We join with you in prayer, asking our Lord Jesus Christ to protect and anoint your prayer meeting. It is essential to gather in His name, as He promised, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." Matthew 18:20 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believers who are gathered for prayer. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection and anointing upon their meeting. Guide them by Your Holy Spirit, and let Your presence be felt powerfully among them. Help them to pray and do in accordance with Your will. Help them to be steadfast in prayer and to remember it is a command in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to "Pray without ceasing."
Lord Jesus, You promised that whatever we ask in Your name, You will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:13 WEB. We claim this promise and ask that You show up mightily, leading and guiding them in their prayers and discussions. Help those in the group to be later called disciples as in Acts 11:26 and to help them train and mentor new Christians.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. We pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we thank you for the direct access we have to you which we can only have by believing in Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage all to be steadfast in prayer and to remember that there is power in praying together in the name of Jesus. Be sure they remember famous biblical meetings such as upper room prayer meetings. Be sure to emphasize that true believers are all priests and have direct access to God and should not need to pray to Mary or any saint. The Bible does not teach us to do this. Therefore, they should be praying directly to God the Father in the name of Jesus or Jesus himself. Be sure to emphasize this.
Be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and trust that God will work mightily in and through your gathering. Remember that Jesus is our intercessor and is making intercession for us.
