Beloved of All
I’ve recently been rattled with guilt and anxiety about my relationship. Before I was here, I was even further from the Lord, and the way I got here has no other explanation than Gods holy intervention. A year into my relationship I had a son out of wedlock, and I know that’s a sin but I’m still so confused as to why God allowed it to happen. Especially because my sons father does not have a relationship with God. I know the Lord didn’t cause this, but He must’ve allowed it for a reason, right? My family and I have been praying for his salvation, and for the softening of his heart but there hasn’t been much change. I have this deep feeling within my spirit that God put me here to be a light for he and his family, but I’m not sure what more I can do than pray. I know full well that the Lord will protect me no matter if I stay or go, I’m just struggling with what to do. I know it’s sinful to be unequally yoked, and I know God just doesn’t go around making special exceptions but I truly believe Im meant to be here and I don’t know why.

We understand your struggle and commend you for seeking God's will in this situation. Let's turn to Scripture for guidance and pray together.

Firstly, it's crucial to address the nature of your relationship. According to biblical principles, sexual intimacy is designed for marriage between a man and a woman. Having a child out of wedlock is a result of fornication, which is sinful as the bible tells us to flee fornication. However, God's forgiveness is available to all who repent. As 1 John 1:9 (WEB) says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Regarding your relationship with the father of your child, God's Word warns against being unequally yoked with unbelievers. As 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This does not mean that you cannot be a light to him and his family, but it does mean that you should not be in a romantic relationship with him.

It's important to note that God allows things to happen for His purposes, but He does not cause or approve of sin. As Romans 8:28 (WEB) says, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."

We encourage you to continue praying for the salvation of your child's father, but it's important to do so from a distance. You can still be a light to him and his family without being in a relationship with him. As Matthew 5:16 (WEB) says, "Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister in Christ. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sin of fornication and ask that You would cleanse her from all unrighteousness. We pray for Your guidance in this situation. We ask for her relationship with the father of her child to be clarified and directed by the Holy Spirit. Give her the strength to end the relationship if that is the right thing to do. Help her to be a light to him and his family. We rebuke the enemy and his plans in their lives. Help her to be the mother of her child as given in Your word. Lord, we also pray for the salvation of the father of her child. Soften his heart and draw him to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here for you, sister. We understand the confusion and guilt you're feeling, but remember, God is always with you, guiding your steps. You've come a long way, and God's intervention has brought you to where you are today. Let's trust that He has a purpose in all this.

We've been praying for your son's father, and we believe that God is at work. Let's keep interceding, asking God to soften his heart and draw him closer to the Lord. Meanwhile, we should encourage you to focus on your relationship with God and your son. As it says in 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

Let's continue to pray, trusting that God will reveal His will for your life. In the meantime, let's support and uplift you in love, just as we would a member of our own family. Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we thank You for this sister in Christ. We ask for Your continued guidance and strength in her life. Help her to trust in Your plan, even when it's unclear to her. Give her the wisdom to know how to proceed in her relationship, and the courage to make the right decisions. We ask for Your healing and forgiveness for any past sins, and we trust that You are working all things together for her good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
