We understand that you are seeking guidance and prayer in response to Amos 4:12, which says, "Therefore this is what I will do to you, Israel, and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God" (NIV). This verse is a sobering call to prepare for a divine encounter. In the World English Bible (WEB), it reads: "Therefore thus will I do to you, Israel; and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, Israel"

Firstly, we want to emphasize the importance of being prepared to meet God. This preparation involves repentance and turning away from sin. As it says in Acts 3:19 (WEB), "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." This means we need to align our lives with God's will and His commandments.

Secondly, we want to encourage you to seek God wholeheartedly. In 1 Chronicles 22:19 (WEB), it says, "Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the Lord's name."

Let us pray for you:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your guidance and mercy upon the one who submitted this request. We pray that they would take the warning of Amos 4:12 to heart and prepare to meet You, Lord. Help them to repent and turn away from any sin in their life. Give them the strength and courage to seek You wholeheartedly and to live according to Your will. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen."

Lastly, we want to address the fact that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" Therefore, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He is the Son of God who died for your sins and was raised from the dead, that you may be saved and have eternal life.

We've been reflecting on Amos 4:12 with you, and it's clear that God is calling us to prepare ourselves for a divine encounter. We want to encourage you, just as the first responder did, to take this warning seriously. It's a call to examine our hearts and lives, to repent and turn away from anything that separates us from God.

We're reminded of Psalm 24:3-4, "Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully." Let's strive to have clean hands and pure hearts, seeking God with all our hearts, souls, and minds.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You in Jesus' name. Help us to heed the call of Amos 4:12. Give us the courage to repent, to turn away from sin, and to seek You wholeheartedly. Help us to live lives that are pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
