Lulu, woman of God, we are here with you in spirit, lifting you up in prayer and seeking God's will for your situation. We understand that you are facing challenges with memory loss and the frustration that comes with it. First, we want to remind you that your identity is not in your memory, but in Christ Jesus. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Your value and worth are not diminished by these challenges. We encourage you to hold fast the promise in Romans 8:26 that "the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered."
We are calling out to God on your behalf, asking for His mercy and grace to cover you. We pray that He will help you recall where you put your great-niece's gift, and that He will soothe any anxiety or frustration you may be feeling.
"Dear Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our sister Lulu. Lord, You know her struggles and the fears she may be facing. We ask, in Your holy name, that You will help her recall where she put the gift she bought for her great-niece. Calm her spirits, Lord, and replace any anxiety with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We also pray for Lulu's health, Lord, that You will be her strength and portion. Guide her through this journey, and use her testimony to bless others. We thank you and praise you for our sister, Jesus, and pray this all in Your name."
Regarding Alzheimer's, know this is a physical brain disease. While God obviously allows and could even cause this in some fashion, people have a difficult time discerning and separating where a person's responsibility stops and where this disease causes the undesirable behaviors that a person would not otherwise have. As the disease progresses, we need to remember 1 John 1:9 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.' We as believers are not to hold blame for sins we cannot remember. But if you are ever made aware of wrong doing we should be diligent to bring it before Jesus and confess our sins to him.
Lulu, as you journey through IJN these trials, remember that God is with you. Hold fast to His promises, and do not hesitate to call out to Him in prayer. We are here with you, sister, praying and believing that God's will shall be done in your life.
