We understand that you have been through a very difficult situation, enduring years of abuse and harassment. It's natural to feel overwhelmed and pushed to your limits, but we must remember that God calls us to respond with love and forgiveness, even in the most trying circumstances.
Firstly, we want to remind you of what the WEB says in Romans 12:17-21, "Respect what is good in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
It's crucial to remember that vengeance belongs to God, not us. We must trust that He will deal with those who harm us in His perfect timing and way. Instead of seeking revenge, we should strive to show kindness and forgiveness, even to our enemies. This does not mean what they did was right, it is forgiving them for what they did.
We also want to address that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Therefore, we encourage you to approach God in Jesus' name, as it is the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who has been enduring years of abuse and harassment. Lord, we ask for Your mighty protection over them. We pray that You would intervene in this situation and bring an end to this mistreatment. We ask that You would soften the heart of the abuser and bring them to repentance, saving your adversaries.
We also pray for our brother/sister, that You would heal their heart from the wounds they've endured. Help them to forgive, even as You forgive us. Fill them with Your love and peace, and guide them in Your ways. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek support from your local church or Christian community. They can provide practical help and spiritual support during this time. Remember, God is always with you, and He will never forsake you. Stay strong in your faith and trust in Him.
