We thank Anne for submitting her request. We understand that she is seeking a support system and various provisions, and she is believing I the name of Jesus. For this we are glad. In Jesus name we have access to the throne of grace. We want to offer some heart feltt advice and guidance to deepen Anne's understanding of God's principles for provision and happiness.
Firstly, we commend Anne for acknowledging her needs and for affirming her trust in Jesus. By putting IJN it appears that she is asking in the name of Jesus, in Jesus name, to receive various things. However, we need to point out that we receive things in the name of Jesus name after we have received God's will in our hearts in Jesus name instead of the things themselves. As believers, our ultimate goal should be to seek God's kingdom and His righteousness first, and then trust that God will provide for our needs according to His riches in glory and as long as it aligns with his will (Matthew 6:33 WEB). Anne has gotten this reversed.
Another thing we are aware of is that scriptures make a nuanced argument against making our happiness dependent on another person, even a legitimate spouse. When we seek happiness from someone we are making them an idol. Though it's wonderful to be happy with a spouse, "my husband and I," they would better be happy in Jesus and in the joy of the Lord that is their strength together. In other words, we find our contentment and happiness in Christ, from being in his will, and then find it as a side benefit to be married. It is clear that the bible says that when a spouse finds their peace in a person, that they are suddenly expecting more than a person is capable of giving. Psalms 37:4 KJV says to not set your heart on a spouse you want, but be in the will of God by delighting in the Lord. This is subtly different than what Anne is asking.
Therefore, let's pray for her as we see the need for biblical principles to become the foundation of Anne's request:
"Father, we come before you in Jesus' name to lift up Anne. We pray that she will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide for all her needs according to Your riches in glory. Open up the windows of heaven on her behalf with blessings more than she could receive except for trusting fully in the only wise God. Help her love the Lord with all of her heart and to receive the food and clothes she and her husband need. We also pray for her marriage, that it would be centered on Christ and His love, and that their joy would be complete with our Lord, instead of being made to be dependent on each other. Help Anne to understand that You are her ultimate source of happiness and provision, and that her marriage should reflect Your love and glory. Help her break the yoke and bondage of making happiness dependent on her husband. Let them together as a team who is on fire for you, Lord. Help them find their hearts perfectly content (His contentment is the meaning of His love) in your will and blessings. Rebuke any idolatry and self love. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
We are so proud of Anne for seeking what she wants from the Lord "IJN," which means in Jesus name. We pray for her to be happy in the faith, that they can foster true unity and selfless love within their marriage. Our sister and brother must pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness (1 Timothy 6:11 WEB) together.
Anne, remember that God cares for you and your husband dearly. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). Put you happiness in him, instead of each other, loving one another from the happiness you receive from him and not from one another. He will cover you both in one rich and pleasant perfect unity of the Lord and trust that He has a good plan for your life together in this life. Be joyfully obedient and rest in his grace through faith in Jesus name. Amen.
