We understand that you are struggling with alcoholism and are seeking God's help to overcome it. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and acknowledging your need for divine intervention. It is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that true freedom endures.
Let us remind you of what the WEB says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Also, Galatians 5:1 reminds us, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." It is only the Lord Jesus Christ who can set you free from this bondage of alcoholism.
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their struggle against alcoholism. We know that this battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to loose its hold in the name of Jesus!
"We pray for your strength and grace to fill our brother/sister today. Help them to take hold of the way of escape that you always provide in moments of temptation. Remind them of your faithfulness and unfailing love.
"Surround our brother/sister with your presence, Lord, and guide them on the path of righteousness. We ask for your healing power to restore their body, mind, and spirit. Help them to stand firm in the liberty that Christ has given them and never again be entangled in bondage.
"We also pray for your guidance to those who are helping them and us as a group in your will.
"Thank you, Father, for your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. We claim your promises in Jesus' name. Amen."
Remember, it is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that you have access to God. There is no other name by which you can be saved.
Stay strong in the Lord. Do not give up. Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. God is with you, and we are standing with you in prayer. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and finisher of your faith.
If there is something specific that is causing you to drink, we would like to pray about that as well.
