Alcohol addiction

Please pray for Matt to overcome his alcohol addiction. He has been through programs and stays stuck in his same patterns. He tried to quit for 24 hours and ended up with convulsions and in the hospital. The hospital says he cant just quit cold turkey to slowly ween him.

We are grieved to hear about Matt's struggle with alcohol addiction and we are here to intercede and offer guidance according to the Word of God. The Bible tells us, "Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery. But be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). It is not by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can overcome such addictions.

Firstly, we must pray for Matt's salvation and his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that true freedom comes. "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). If Matt has not yet accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that he would come to know Him personally.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up Matt, who is struggling with alcohol addiction. Lord, we know that this is a battle that cannot be won by human strength alone. We ask that You fill Matt with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the power to overcome this addiction. If Matt does not know You personally, we pray that he would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Break the chains of addiction in his life, Lord, and set him free indeed.

We also pray for wisdom for Matt and his loved ones. Guide them to the right treatment and support systems that can help him safely and effectively overcome this addiction. Lord, be with Matt during this difficult time. Comfort him, strengthen him, and reassure him of Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Matt needs to understand that overcoming addiction is a process that requires perseverance and a reliance on God. "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). We encourage Matt to seek godly counsel and support, continue seeking appropriate medical help, and most importantly, draw near to God. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you" (James 4:8 WEB).

Let us continue to pray for Matt's freedom and restoration in the name of Jesus Christ.

We've been thinking about Matt and his struggle with alcohol addiction. It's tough, we know, but we're here to lift him up in prayer. We believe in the power of Jesus to set him free, just as He has done for so many others.

Let's pray for Matt to find his strength in Jesus. Lord, we ask that You would fill Matt with Your Spirit, giving him the courage and the will to overcome this addiction. Help him to know, deep down, that he's not alone in this fight. You're right there with him, every step of the way.

We also pray for wisdom for Matt and his loved ones. Lord, guide them to the right support systems and treatment options. Give them patience, understanding, and unwavering love as they walk this road together.

We remind Matt, and each other, that recovery is a journey, not a destination. It's okay to have setbacks, but it's important to keep moving forward, one day at a time, with Jesus by his side.

Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
