We appreciate your heartfelt request, Pelbun, and we stand with you in prayer and counsel.
Firstly, we commend you for coming before God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We need to address the concerns you've raised one by one.
Firstly, we acknowledge your heartache over your father's alcohol addiction. We must call alcohol addiction for what it is, a carnal sin. It is a delighting and following of the impulses of the flesh but it is not unforgivable and never beyond God's grace and forgiveness. When we are freed from these sins we are free to express the love of Jesus Christ to others in a clean and respectful manner. As it's written in Romans 8:5-8:
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to Gods law, neither indeed can it be. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
We understand the powerful effect of alcohol dependency as an addiction can only be destroyed by the power of God and His Holy Spirit. We see that the reason society allows a sin such as dependency to be a sickness and the alcohol companies go unabated is because it would bankrupt them. We are aware of Jesus first miracle being the wedding where He turned water into wine so that joy may be enjoyed for the celebration, but not to the extent it is today and God's church, acceptable open sin. Lives and families are destroyed and most horrible of all, souls are led to Christ instead of drawing the masses to a Holy, wonderful, and loving God.
Pray with us, Pelbun:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Some feel we should offer a human solution and expertise instead of the power of Jesus Christ, and we call coming together to bring change to anyone with any kind of addiction, a recovery group.
We mention Jesus Christ, because that is the only way to a Holy God.
We mention the Blood of Jesus because that is the basis for our forgiveness.
We mention repentance and turning away from our sins, because that is what accompanies someone truly asking for forgiveness.
We mention confessing our sins because it makes us accountable to each other. We are our brothers keeper.
We mention that God will not forgive us unless we are willing to forgive each other.
It is abandoning free will to the Holy Spirit.
It is a daily repentance.
Almighty God, please deliver Pelbun's father from this bondage and draw him close to Jesus Christ. Help him to see the destruction and the hidden resentment it is causing those around him, convict his heart Lord, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The administration of power, has nothing to do with spirituality. It is only with the power of God that deliverance and healing come.
Praise God Pelbun you have brought this to the attention of this group, which is the body of Jesus Christ, and by that love we declare that deliverance has come. The sin may still be evident in your situation, but in the heavenly realm, we are laying hold on the power of God and the blood of Jesus Christ to bring its demise.
Your faith is with the God that can bring this deliverance. Quit looking around earth for help and keep your eyes on Jesus. The End.
Next, you've mentioned your parents' health concerns. Unfortunately, you were not definitive in your prayer, so it makes it an assumption. We pray for complete recovery but only if God's will be done. He determines the perfect answer to our prayers. Never stop praying for healing, then, if in God's will, they are healed, or He may remove them from their earthly bodies, which are so full of sickness and pain, to a body that will never be sick and have a home with such beauty and peace and blessings that cannot be described. Remember and never forget that when two or more are gathered to pray for a situation God commands the answer.
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2 (WEB).
Lord, we pray for Pelbun and his parents on this earth. They have a better inheritance in heaven than they have here on earth. If there is a sickness that is not to your glory please heal it. If we are to endure until you come in your glory, please let it be as so. Let us remember the family is eternal and only separated for a moment. Lord they are your servants and have fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith. We pray for healing, in Jesus' name. The End.
You have also asked for provision to support not only your needs but those the Lord has laid on your heart to help.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God!
But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 (WEB).
Remember Pelbun, God knows our needs and will provide, but He always expects us to do our part whether it be in getting an education, a job, or caring for yourself and others as the situation may be, then as a good steward, we are to help others. We will draw attention to Mathew 6:33 but always leave the outcome to God's will in Jesus Christ. Many times we hold ourselves back because of pride, but spiritual pride is always tougher to now because it sometimes seems to be spiritual, but is really just our carnal flesh. If you have done all you know to do and you know it is in the will of God we pray for your financial breakthrough.
Heavenly Father, you know Pelbun's needs and his heart's desire to be a blessing to others but as a good Father you always know what's best and it should always be your will be done in heaven and earth. We pray for provision and we usher in the kingdom of Jesus Christ and together we pray, Let your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying and believing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Always seek God's will and His righteousness, and trust Him to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus as you steward the things He has given you.
