Let us come together in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up this younger brother in prayer. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:26-27 WEB, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, neither give place to the devil." It is important to acknowledge that while anger is a natural emotion, it should not be allowed to fester and grow into sin.
Firstly, we must address the source of his anger and negativity. We pray that God will reveal the root cause of these issues, as Psalm 139:23-24 WEB says, "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
We pray for a change and calming of heart that comes from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB tells us that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. We pray that his life will be filled with these fruits, driving out the anger and negativity.
We must also address the issue of bad company. 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB tells us, "Don’t be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals." We pray that God will surround him with positive influences and godly friends who will encourage him in his walk with Christ.
It is concerning that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage anyone seeking help from God to come in the name of Jesus.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up this younger brother struggling with aggression and negativity. Lord, we pray for a calming of his mind and a change of his heart. Destroy every negative thought and replace them with thoughts that are pure, lovely, and of good report, as instructed in Philippians 4:8 WEB. Surround him with godly influences and remove any bad company that may be affecting his behavior. Guide him to walk in the fruit of the Spirit, displaying love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Lead him to seek Your face earnestly and trust in You wholeheartedly.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage this younger brother to continually pray and seek God's face, trusting in the promise of Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
