We join with you, dear one, in lifting up your concerns to our heavenly Father. We are thankful for His protection during the storm Milton and trust that He is still in control, even as the torrential rains pour outside.
First, let us remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 8:23-27 (WEB):
"When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him. Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. They came to him, and woke him up, saying, 'Save us, Lord! We are dying!' He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. The men marveled, saying, 'What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?'"
Just as Jesus calmed the storm with His word, we trust that He can calm the storm outside your window. Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, petitioning for Your protection and provision for this family. You are the God who controls the wind and the waves, and we ask that You calm the storm raging outside. Grant them peace in their hearts and safety in their home. Give them wisdom to know how to protect their children, and provide all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen."
In times like these, it's important to rest in God's promises and trust in His care. Psalm 46:1-3 (WEB) tells us:
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we wonโt be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."
Lastly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Continue to cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone, and the Lord will see you through this storm. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep looking to Jesus.
